about maisy chain

Created by me, Jeanette [Maisy] House, in October 2006, maisy chain is a collection of contemporary artisan jewellery, handcrafted with pearls, metal clay and gemstones.

A language graduate and business manager in my former life, I re-discovered my creative side and turned to crafting and jewellery making as a positive outlet during periods of ill-health. I completed a basic bead stringing course and an introduction to working with precious metal clay but thereafter I am essentially self-taught.

I am a creative fidget, often with different projects on the go at one time. maisy chain allows me to explore different materials and techniques in my designs [from stringing, hand knotting and wire wrapping to handcrafting pieces from metal clay] without having to choose between them!

I love to source quality stones and components which I combine to create wearable jewellery for both informal and special occasions. My style is eclectic and so my signature is in the quality finish that I apply to every piece I make. Colour and texture are also fundamental to my designs, whether they be calming neutrals or vibrant statements!

My collection consists of one-of-a-kind [ooak] and limited edition pieces. I purchase select materials in small quantities, so maisy chain designs are never mass produced. Whilst some pieces can be re-created, they will always differ slightly since each one is individually handmade by me.
